Our fall 2014 show, titled "Get Happy!" certainly did! Everyone from our director, our singers , our guest stars and dancers right down to our audience--we all got happy! Perhaps these photos will bring a smile to your face and remind you to "Get Happy!" all over again.
February 14, 2014 was a blizzardy day for much of New England. But that didn't stop these lovely intrepid ladies from spreading love and good cheer to the many recipients of our Valentine's singing telegrams! This is always one of Maiden Vermont's favorite days! Lots of nuncheon all day long as ladies joined in throughout the day. Lots of singing. And lots of happy Valentines.
We had our annual Holiday Party at the community center in Middlebury. Such a lovely venue for our party! There was plenty of delicious food--no one went hungry. Lots of merriment and mirth with our "white elephant" gift swap. And Carol Bowles received the coveted WOW award! You might notice an abundance of red sweaters. This is because we sang for the Lights of Love celebration at the humane society right before our party.

Maiden Vermont was invited to sing for the residents by a special gift donated specifically to bring in quality entertainment acts specific to barbershop music. The hope of the endowment was to show that barbershop singing can be delightful to listen to when it is done well! It was an honor for Maiden Vermont to perform for this receptive audience.

The dragon boats in this yearly festival are powered by paddlers who have survived breast cancer or know a survivor. The competition is a testimony to the healing power of social connection and physical prowess that comes from being part of a paddling team.
One of our own singers is also a member of the international winning team from right here in Vermont! We're so proud of her and all the competitors!
