Maiden Vermont Retreat
In June of 2013, the Maidens packed up for a three-day retreat at Common Ground Camp in Starksboro, VT. For this second ever retreat, we were blessed to have with us as teachers, mentors and great friends the famous barbershop music arranger Joe Liles and his charming wife, Kay. Kay, incidentally, is no minor catch in the barbershop world, and she offered a great deal of wisdom and inspiration as well!
Many tunes that Maiden Vermont performs are arranged by Joe. At our retreat, Joe gave us some great advice and pointers for making our sound even more distinctive, our harmonies tighter, and our presentation more of the fun and joy that audiences come to expect from Maiden Vermont.
