Audition Information
Here's how to apply to join the group. This sounds very formal, but it's really not. We're fun and friendly, so don't get scared off. We just need to ensure that all our members can sing on pitch and can hold their own part when surrounded by women singing other parts.
- A singer can come to a rehearsal and listen during the evening. She can borrow a folder of music for the evening so she can follow along with what we are rehearsing, and then gives the folder back at the end of the rehearsal.
- At the point that she wants to apply for membership, usually after attending two or three rehearsals as a guest, she downloads the score, MIDI, and recording of our audition song, "One More Song" to help her learn it. The links for these are below.
- After about three weeks, the applicant asks our director, Tim, for an audition, and he arranges for the Section Leader quartet to sing with her, singing the song from memory. (We usually do this at the end of a rehearsal.)
- Upon successfully singing in a quartet, she will be welcomed as a new member, at which time we'll show her how to download the music for our current repertoire from our website onto her iPad or print the paper version, whichever she prefers. If she decides not to audition, we wish her well! If she doesn’t pass her audition, she can discuss her options with Tim and decide how to proceed.
