Maiden Vermont Illness Policy (updated March, 2025)
Maiden Vermont is committed to the health and safety of all our members. Because many are over age 60 and may be considered at higher risk for health issues, we each do what we can to preserve the well-being of our Maiden sisters.
As per the CDC, Flu, Covid and RSV are three of the many respiratory viruses that cause illnesses in the respiratory system. These illnesses share similar symptoms, risk factors and prevention strategies. We have more knowledge and tools than ever before to help us protect ourselves from severe respiratory illness.
If you are sick and have symptoms of an illness, please stay home until you are well. If you are at the beginning or end of an illness and your symptoms are mild, please wear a mask at rehearsal. Viruses are contagious as long as you have symptoms. If you are planning on coming to rehearsal with new, mild respiratory symptoms, please do a covid test on the afternoon of rehearsal and verify that it's negative. If you develop covid in the next day or two following rehearsal, the mask you wear because of your mild symptoms, will protect your Maiden sisters while at rehearsal.
